Course Description

The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is focused on promoting the social emotional development and school readiness of young children birth to age 5.  The Center has developed evidence-based, user-friendly training modules to help early childhood educators meet the needs of the growing number of children with challenging behaviors and mental health challenges in child care and Head Start programs. Heartland AEA 11 will be offering training utilizing the CSEFEL preschool modules, and in addition, a day long training will also be provided for leadership team development, data collection strategies, program evaluation, and sustainability.

Audience
This series is intended for those who work with preschool children, ages 3-5 years of age, in preschool programs, child development homes, and  child care centers.

Module 1 will focus on the importance of designing environments that support children’s success by engaging them in meaningful activities, teaching them about the expectations of the environment, and implementing a schedule that is predictable and engaging to each child.

All trainings will begin at 8:30am and end at approximately 3pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Please bring your own sack lunch.
